    3 questions--ok 4

I have the trial ver 2.??? of Mach 3. I have 495 steppers direct driving 6 tpi
screws with a Xylotex drive. I have the motor tuning done and they are running fine. I also have downloaded the 157 page manual for MACH. I have a few questions that so far I can't find the answers to.

#1 My table is a gantry type and X is my longest and left to right as I view my table. Is left negative values and right positive. When I jog, mine is backward of that. Should I care? Can they be reversed in Mach? Also where does pos and neg values start on the machine? left side, right, middle?

#2 I will be using inches with direct driving 6 tpi screws. I can't figure how to configure so when my table moves 10 inches, 10 inches will show on my screen.

#3 I put a felt tip pen on my tool carrier and opened the roadrunner to draw it out on paper. But it's very small. Maybe 2 inches long. How can I enlarge it to the size i want. I also opened the file for the circle and it drew out. It came out at 10 inch diameter.

note: this is the free trial version of Mach 3 maybe this has some effect.
What does 1000 lines limit me to doing.......I'll be reading and watching videos
    while awaiting for a reply.............thanks........Nick

#1 Left is negative, right is positive. There are 2 ways to reverse it. One is in the ports and pins, motor outputs, dir active low. Change it. You can set X=0 anywhere on the table you want.
#2 Motor tuning, steps per unit. 6 x 200 x 8 = 9600 steps per unit. You'll have to retune the motors once you change this setting.
    #3 Fixing#2 should fix it.
#4 Your limited to whatever you can fit into 1000 lines of g-code.

    Ger21...........thanks.....it worked

Resetting to 9600 works. Reran the roadrunner file and it came out to about seven inches where before it was about 2 inches across. I still don't know if I can change its size. The video says if you click on scale next to DRO it can be changed. When I click on it I can change the value but it doesn't change
in the window. Then it goes back to what it was,,,1.000. I did it over and over with no results. The video says when you click on the scale the yellow
light will come on..........mine doesn't. I also reversed X in ports and pins like you said.

In MAch3, any DRO's you can enter numbers into, you MUST hit enter for the numbers to stick. If you don't hit enter, they will reset to what they were. THe yellow light will come on after you hit enter. I just tried it.

When you change the scale, the blue toolpath will not change size, but the green toolpath will run at the scaled size when you run the code.

    Thanks again Ger21

I assume you mean the enter on the key board. The video shows a slightly
different screen than mine but close enough. I must have watched that part
of the video 30 times and never heard him say hit enter. It's a great video but sometimes it's hard to follow his curser arrow and he moves fast at times.
I sure glad the videos are there. I ended up taking my laptop and set it beside
the cnc computer so start and stop etc. When I would watch it inside and then go out to my shop I had it all confused. I will try that tomorrow. But I do have 3 roadrunner sharpie pieces of art.
