| Hi, I just posted a website dedicated to a CNC conversion. It shows the detailed conversion of my Smithy 1220 LTD, 3-in-1 machine, with lots of pictures and info (10 MB) showing the entire process. I hope you will find it helpful. http://users.adelphia.net/~kchris/ Regards, Chris K |

| I have opened several so far without any problems viewing the bigger versions. I notice you are driving the Z axis through the fine feed adjustment. Do you have any backlash issues going this route? Do you know what you have for backlash in the fine feed? Thanks, Dave |

Hey Chris;Outstanding work! Have you determined the backlash yet with the thomson ball screws. I'm in the process of converting a lathemaster mill using nook screws and I'm kinda concerned with the backlash and the fact that someone has mentioned that nook does not recommend my setup for cnc. Screws and nuts were purchased from mcmaster carr for a reasonable price. Anyway, I'll just have to see! My main question for you is how your labeled your control panel. The legends look very professional and I'm struggling with how to lable mine. I was going to use a white tape label machine on a white face panel and clear coat the entire thing for protection. However, I do think yours looks much better. Again good job. billyjack
