Newbie can't import .nc file into Mach

Hi -- I 'm new to all of this and am trying of feel my way though.
I'm an artist who isusing his machine to cut blocks ( linoleum, wood , plastic)
to make prints with. I managed to make a gcode file in Cam Bam nad it shows
up in the folder I put it in, but when I try to import it to Mach 3 - I can;t see the file.

    Any suggestions?

any good suggestions about programs that will change a jpeg, bit map into gcode that Mach 3 will open?

Thanks -- I have so much to learn here.

change the extension on the .nc file to .tap and it should work.
I don't use cambam, but you should be able to set a default extension your g-code files.

can't help on the jpeg issue.

By default Mach3 looks for files with a .tap extension - there's no difference in the file content.

You can either change the name of the file as you save it in your CamBam program - or there's a "files of type" drop-down box in the Mach3 dialog box as you open the file, where you can select the .nc extension.

On the jpeg issue - if you've got "LazyCam" as part of your Mach3 installation - open Mach3 and then select File and LazyCam. There's a jpeg import option here - but I've not tried it, and no idea if it works or not. I don't think the Mach3 guys are supporting LazyCam any more so it may be out of date
