Every once in a while, my machine will stop in the middle of a cut. I think it might be static electricity or just a gremlin, but I haven't quite figured out how to get the program to run from the line that it stopped on. If I click on "run from here", the program will cycle back from the beginning to the line that it stopped on, and then a preparatory move box will pop up- even though the numbers in the preparatory move look right according to the program, the Z axis will dive straight down, past the number that was shown in the box. What causes this, and what is the solution? Thanks |

| Be sure to set up "Safe Z Movement" dialog in the config menu. The number in the "box" you refer to is the Z position for the impending move. I also like to reference home to zeros while starting a program just to avoid a few more adventures. After all that, it should take u right where expected.

| When that preparatory move dialog box pops up just click cancel and then cycle start and it will run from that line. I'm not sure if it's a bug, but that's how I've always used it. Just make sure that the reason your machine stopped isn't due to a stepper stall or your position won't be where you expect it to be. |

| Mine will occasionaly do the same thing thinking a limit switch has been triggered (Unsheilded wire at present, shielded on the way). But when I reset the trigger, and hit start, the machine will screw up the part. Last time, it went hard to the X+ ruined a $30 long endmill. So if that happens again with limit switch trigger or broken it. I should be able to reset, home all axis, then do the "Run from here to start the process a line right before before it triggered. Will that allow me to finish the cut without problems? Obviously, I would have my offsets in the program already, so the locations of cut should stay the same. And if there was tool breakage or something, this should allow me to get back to the right locations for cut once new tool is set and zeroed to part. |
