    Question motor tuning

    I have this kit [USA STOCK4Axis Nema34 Stepper Motor 9.3Nm 1600oz-in+Driver 85BYGH450C-012B CNC | eBay
and 16 mm Ball Screw assembly 1000mm long and with 4 ball circuit | eBay

    I use MACH3 on Windows 7
I set the driver to 1600 PULSE /REV

    I set in motor tuning:
    step per: 1600
    velocity: 1000 (for start)
    accelrtation: 100 (for start)
    step pulse: 0
    dir pulse: 0

Then I used the axis calibration (set steps per unit)

Now for the problem I have
    after axis calibration
    In MDI (any axis X, Y, Z)
    I am writing
    G00Y1.25
Then the axis moves right to 1.25MM
Then I press GOTO Z and it is 0.00MM
    Now again in MDI
    I am writing
    GOOY-1.25
Then the axis moved 1.30 / 1.27 MM
    Then again GOTO Z
    And it returns to 0.00MM
    So there is no BACKLASH

    I can not set calibration

Another thing I tried was plans at SOLIDWORKS and VECTRIC
    (Just 90MM square on 70MM)
And the size Not going out right

Can anyone shed light on the situation?

*** I also tried to change a board but it did not solve

I'm wondering if it's the hardware at issue, that ebay kit is a really badly matched kit I suspect. The steppers are huge and have a massive inductance value, the ball park PSU they need to perform optimally is around 150VDC.

How big and heavy is this machine of yours?

More knowledgeable people will chime in I'm sure, but I think the response and speeds/rapids will be pretty bad with this setup?

    cheers, Ian

    It's a state of mind!

Sorry I did not have time today and tomorrow I'll bring some more details about the machine
