Default please, wait, generating, path, Mach 3

I have been using Mach 3 for about a month. This problem just started happening.
I load a gcode file and I get the mesage "please wait...generating path...". It never loads. The Gcode loads but will not run. Sometimes I load a file and it works just fine. Most of the time it will not generate the tool path. Does anyone have any Idea what could cause this?

In general config, check "Ignore M codes while loading" (or something like that) and see if it helps.

    Uninstall and reinstall Mach3.

I've heard of this happening before, but I don't recall if there's a way to fix it.

I found a solution. Not right but it works. All I have to do is hit "reset" and regen the path and it works! If it gets too agrivating then I'll do as you suggest and reload the program.

I'm thankful that this thread existed and that I found it!

I've used Mach3 for a number of years and never encountered this problem. My version is and has been R3.043.066 for the past 3 years or so.

The circumstances for me were as follows:

    1. When Windows 7 came out and XP was no longer going to be updated, I purchased a Dell Optiplex to dedicate to my CNC as an XP Pro platform
    2. I moved my CamBam and Mach3 programs to the new XP Pro w/SP3 and all the most up-to-date patches
3, Copied my Mach3 XML profiles to this new Dell and tested the program, although not to the extend of loading g-code.
    4. We moved 1,000 miles to a new home (things got boxed and transported) unboxed and setup at the new home
    5. Mach3 was run and the CNC machine jogged through it's three axis, the router controller tested and some test cuts were made
    6. So CamBam using Mach3 as the Post Processor was used to create G-Code that loaded into Mach3 and ran.
    7. The CNC system sat for close to 12 months with no use.
    8. Today it was re-awakened, and g-code loaded, but the "Please wait...generating path" message appeared continuously with Mach3 doing nothing, and using no CPU cycles.
    9. I closed and reloaded numerous g-code files that ran in the past and same thing.
    10. Then I found this post, performed a Reset and Regen G-Code and it worked!!

    Go figure....

    Thanks for the work-around solution!
