Hi , im trying to find the scorce of my motors not running , i was wondering is there a way to know if the parallel port works? ive tryed the driver test from mach3 and its good , but is there a way to test output from the port???? my motors lock up soon as i turn on the power but thats it ive tryed everything to no avail , i just want to see my motors work so i can continue on to my next step of this build . im workin with a db25 serial port cable is good wires are through wires now id like to know what should i be looking for at the pins??? ground or voltage and if so what? i cant seem to find any
A serial cable, although the plugs match won't work.
You need a cable, preferably with all 25 pins individually to 25 pins, and the shrouds connected too, with a proper shielded parallel cable.
Serial cables only use much less than 10 wires. Parallel cable uses many more than that.
