A serial A-B switch would work. If the computers are networked you may also want to consider an ethernet to RS-232 adapter.
As for DNC software there is lots available. This is mine: www.iworkshop.co.uk
Hope this helps.

I am running alphacam and alphaedit which require a deskey to operate the software. I have many programs that I will need to drip feed for up to 8 hours. I was wondering if I could find any other DNC software that I could run on another computer so I do not have to tie up my alphacam for days at a time. I also would like to know how I can hook up two computers to one CNC. Will a serial A-B switch work, or am I looking in the wrong direction? Thanks Bill

A switch box will do the job. Cost is like $20.00 We have them in stock. We also can supply you with the cables between the PCs and machine. Software is readily available but when drip feeding you want make sure you disable the FIFO on the PC comm ports.
If you need any help, just give me a call.
