Hello all! I am new to the CNC world. I recently purchased a Gerber System 48 and have upgraded the drives to Gecko g203 drivers. I am reusing the existing motors. They are Superior Electric motors rated at 1.65 volts, and 4.7 amps, and six wires. I have a couple of questions. I guess I am a little confused on whether to hook up the motor phases in series or in parallel? I currently have them hooked up in series and everything seems to work ok. Also, I am running a 34v power supply, and the resistor that I used in the drives is a 100k resistor. The motors seem to be getting hotter than I would expect, even when they are idle. Is this normal or do I have something wrong? Finally, I am using Mach3 and was hoping someone could give a brief overview on how to set up the software to match my setup. Thanks in advance!
