Mitsubishi DWC-110H A Wire EDM Floppy Problem

Has anyone ever worked with one of these machines? And if so... how do you create a floppy disk to read in it AND on a PC. The only reference to the file system on a floppy readable by this EDM is a CP/W format. I downloaded several floppy readers that supposedly read CP/M formats but none of them recognize the disk.

At present using a serial cable isn't an option so I would really like to get this floppy situation sorted out as standing at the machine typing in several thousand lines of code is not my idea of a good time...

Thanks in advance to anyone willing/able to help.

    Question the same problem

Have you succeeded in solving this problem? I can still go with the option of serial cable, but it would be good to have a reserve solution.

    Thank you, Beemon

    Dear Tjurek,
For transfer G Code From PC to DWC 100HA (32 Bits System ), you can send by Floppy Disk 2HD that formatted By 720K MsDos.
you can format on Windows, Usually on 95,98 system

I dislike the lack of standards in industry. We have machines that only use HD disks (manual did not even say that) and machines that can only use 700K DD disks (our Mits. EDMs). nastek, can you explain why Mitsubishi does this and what is the reason for it? It seems like a silly limitation for an expensive piece of technology. The only thing I can think of is the DD is more stable in the fact that it has better data corruption prevention. Since the tighter you pack the data together on a floppy disk, the more the chances of interference between adjacent tracks. Therefore, higher density disks use weaker write signals, and different magnetic coatings than lower density disks. So DD would be the way to go since the data isnt packed in as tight as with the HD disks. Answered my own question I think.

    Dear JSaindon,
Since Mitsubishi released 16 bits system (80's), they use CP/M program.
ON 90's (32 Bits)they adapted 720K DOS system on the CP/M program. but it only can read for parameters disk and NC program.
I think they use for protecting the program ( other controller do like that )
On 1998 the introduce 64 bits system, based on Windows 95.
i don't know what exactly the reason, but i think CP/M on Mitsubishi is stable system.
Mitsubishi can read DD and 2HD that formatted with 720K Dos.
I can not answer your question with specific data.
I only know that 32 bit system can read 720K dos and
64 bits system can read whole Dos format, But can't read CP/M format.
