    Unhappy Fanuc 0 T

I have a problem with my miyano cnc m/c fitted with gefanuc 0T
    the problem is as follow:
1- the electricity cutt off the machine will it was operating
    and the following occurs:
    1- dozen of alarms appear.
2- the mode selector switch is replaced with the feed rate rotary selector switch ( to change from mdi,edit,...) change from feed rate switch.
3- i have notced that all the parameter are retained to its default values(zero's)
4- i tried to upload the parameter Trought RS233 ( after setting the required parameter) but there was no response from the machine. so i load the parameter manually.
the alarms diappear except the following alarm
401 Vrdy off machine not ready.
i follow the maintenance manual instruction ,also i changed all the cards and modules, but the problem still exists.
if any one can help me???
also could you please provide me with contact information of miyano japan (if email will be nice)

    Hmm, I will guess...

Since it's dealing with power issues, I would check all fuses and be sure they are ok. When power comes back on, it can spike. Be sure the voltages are reading as described in your maintenance manual. Once you have ensured the system is getting correct voltage AND amperage in "all" its respected circuitry. Move on to each issue and try to isolate them.

Take your time, and try not to overlook anything.

You could attempt to go through the initial installation sequences as if the machine was new.

That's what I would do to get an idea of what was going on with any failing piece of equipment.

I have a number for Miyano in Chicago. This is the number for the service man that helps us with Miyano lathe problems. He may be able to help you or at least get you a number for Japan. His name is Derrick the number is 1-800-616-6012.

I think there are a number of things going on in this case.

I believe the 401 alarm is the servo amplifiers not being initialized. Is a specific axis or axes specified?

The fact that you lose all the paramters, suggests that either a battery is dead and you are not maintaing memory. Check to see if you are losing anything else such as the parts or cycle counter as well.

For the random cutout, what are you cutting? Are you overloading one of the axes or the spindle in the cut?

As for the mode selector feed rate thing I am not sure what you mean I am not familiar with the Miyano macines you will need to clairfy.

If you could post all the alarms it may help narrow down your search for an answer.

Also, the default for a parameter should not necessaily be all zeros.

The more I think about this and all the issues, it sounds to me as though you may have a loose contact or board in the cabinet or control.

    Hi tab
    thanks for you reply
for the parameter lost is because i changed the mater pcb board,
for the mode selector : in any fanuc control there is two rotary switch one for mode select
(MDI-Edit-Auto-....) and other for feed rate select (10%-20%.......200%)
now the function of the two switched have been changed with each other !!!!

i have a backup of the parameter.
how can i load it again using rs232
is there any setting i have to do before trying to upload it??

Why did you loose power? Are you on the limit switch?
Can you get the hyd. on at all by holding the power button in?
One thing that may work is, shut it down all the way (main also).
turn on the main then go to the controll and hold the letter P key and CANCEL at the same time. as both are being held, turn the machine on the rest of the way if and when the hydros come back on let go of the keys.
