    Help with HECC80/3 controller (Strippit)

    I've been getting my arse kicked by this stinking strippit for awhile now. (FC1250 STL) Not sure if this is the right area to post in but didn't see any dedicated to punches. So here is my problem.

    I can communicate with the machine. No problem in the terminal mode or Edit mode. But in EDIT <Store> mode if the whole program goes in it will never leave the store mode. It just sits there. And i can't figure out how to get it to put a program for terminal mode into the memory. I could really use some help. Maybe i'm not programming it correctly for end of file.

    I'm using cimco edit to send the file. start of file and end of file are:

    0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

    should there not be any commas in there? Strippit service manual says i need to send 10 ascii nulls at beginning and end of file.

    anyways anyone with strippit experience i would love to hear from you.

    oh yeah i'm trying to send from computer to control, rs-232, uart buffer set to low transmit, probably over a 20ft cable that is homemade(will be making a new shorter one), anything else you need to know i'll do what i can.

    never mind figured it out. guess i'm just a tard. have to send the nulls \0. oh well thanks for the views. hehe

    Strippit HECC\80

    I have used the Hecc\80-3 controls on a 1250-30-1500 lasertool and built up a rs-232 cable for one I didnt have any wiring diagram for it so it took a lot of educated guesses and some trial and error as well but I finally got it working Im getting 9600 baud over about 75 feet of well shielded cable. Might have got faster on a shorter run to another machine but the file transfer software is limited to 9600. We set up for a transfer by doing COMM LINK IV with the hecc 80 end initiating either a send file or receive file. Anyone know if it is possible to initiate the transfer from the FAB IV (PC)end? If so what transfer software are you using on the PC? The software we have does not make any provision for using terminal or any other modes.
