You might want to check the Communication Port you are using to send to the machine. Sounds like the device is not responding.
What type of serial hardware are you using?
Hi there,
I have been trying to establish communications between two machine which both have Mazak M2 controls. I initially started with SDcomms version 7, but that did not communicate at all with the machines even with a variety of parameters.
I have now been trying to use NC-link to get communications going with these two controls, i wanted to know if anyone knows if NC-link works at all with windows 7, as it seems that whenever i try and send from the PC to the control, NC-link freezes and becomes completely unresponsive. When trying from an XP PC, sending to the control, NC-link looks like it has sent the program but then promptly closes itself, and the machine does not receive any data.
If anyone knows for sure that NC-link is incompatible with these two operaing systems or if they have gotten it to work with either of these i would very much appreciate some information or advise.
Thanks

NC-Link is a 32 bit application and Win 7, by default installs as a 64 bit OS. However, it can be loaded as a 32 bit OS.
XP was released as a 32 bit OS, but is also available as a 64 bit OS.
The fact that the NC-Link actually closes itself when using the XP OS indicates that there is a problem with the application or the OS. I write comms software, so I don't actually use the NC-Link product but I'm aware of the product and that it works reasonably well.
You will probably have issues using Win 7, but you should have no problems using XP 32 bit.
To determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit XP version, proceed as follows:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
3. Click the General tab. The operating system is displayed as follows:
For a 64-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version < Year> appears under System.
For a 32-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional Version <Year> appears under System.
Post back with the cable configuration you're using, the parameter settings of the control and the configuration settings of NC-Link.
