Hey guys, I know this has prolly been asked a million times before but i couldnt find the threads. Im looking for something similar to multi-DNC to transfer files from my PC to about 20 machines via RS232. The hardware way we are configuring this is with RS232 to Bluetooth adapters all operating on different channels. My question to you all is, what free programs are out there to facilitate the RS232 file transfer from point A to B?
Also, if anyone has set something like this up, any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rob

I did see your post on this in another thread and I looked into it but it does state is only for 1 machine, now the way we would have it set up, would it know it was sending info to more than one machine?
Basically, can the machine be told to upload from the info on the RS232 port or do we need to have this program run on both the PC and the machine receiving it.
Sorry for the basic questions, from the IT side of the world and tasked with this operation.
Thanks again,
Rob
The free sample program is just intended for 1 machine at a time, not multiple network, their network is sets up on a PC as an unattended server which part programs are loaded into and all the machines are hooked up to via RS232 or other means.
The operator at the machine sends or transmits a short file to the server which has an embedded file number which requests the part program file, the server after a brief settable pause, will transmit the requested file, the pre-settable pause is in order for the operator to set his machine in receive mode allowing reciept of the requested part program file.
The operator can also transmit edited files back to the server.

Greetings, contact Highland DNC regarding Shoplink LOW COST Wireless, you are asking about using one of its features called "remote mode" where file transfers are initiated from the CNC controller, connect 40 CNC's per PC, many more if you want to use Windows7 with XP Mode . see Highland DNC, LLC.
