Good day all I would like to take you back to a time just after dinosaurs roamed the earth. We have a lightly experienced Emco-Maier Turn 140 lathe that runs off a mini casette or an RS232 port. Yesterday we were able to correct the messed-up parameters, but for some reason it will not reference because it believes a non-existant parts catcher is fouling motion. I would very much appreciate anyone who can see through the fog we have here and could give us a boost in the right direction. Thanks in advance Glowplugged |

We have power on the machine, but it won't let us get past an Alarm 95, Parts Catcher Not Ready. Nice. No parts catcher was ever installed. Apparently the machine thinks the parts catcher may be interfering with axis motion, so it won't allow the machine to reference. No reference, can't get too far. Can't manually enter a program. It is a remote, remote possibility that a detector switch has malfunctioned, perhaps during the move to- or from storage. Can manually jog the toolchanger, but cannot turn. We attempted to enter suggested "R" parameters, but the machine only took the first two, then refuses R2 and up, instead substituting other numbers that vary widely in relation to the intended entry. Now, come on, someone on this board must know a bit about these old machines. Do your part and help out a tech colleges's machining program!!! Thanks Glowplugged |
