| I have recently got the bug for CNC machines and have started to build a CNC machine, the mechanicals are almost complete so I purchased a driver board, poer supply and some decent Nema 34 motors from Astrosyn. All the units have been wired together and I can get the computer to talk to the driver board and the driver to turn the motors. The problem is that the speed of the motors seems to be very low and if I hold the drive shaft they start to severely miss steps. The driver board states a max of 2.5A per motor @ 36V. The motors are 8 wire units wired in series resulting at approx 4 Ohms resistance on each phase, as the motors are driven at 5 Volts the current is reaching its max, but I would have thought this would be only when it is under load. Do I need a more substatntial driver? or have I setup something wrong in MACH 3 or even wired something wrong. |

| You need to provide more information, like pictures of your setup, wiring diagram etc. for us to understand your specific issue. Kavee
