| Anilam 3300MK Anybody else running one of these controllers? I have 2 here, one of which likes to decide for me whether or not my arc centers in my posted programs are "logical" or not and change them on me if it doesn't think the arc center is logical. I've screwed around with the setup to no avail...I did find the Maximum Arc Correction setting, but this seems to set the tolorence for how often the "Warning Arc adjusted beyond maximum ...." error messege comes up and not the actual maximum amount to correct. I've also screwed around with limiting my maximum and minimum arc radii posted to my programs, also to no avail. It seems this Anilam has a mind of it's own when it comes to "logical arc centers" .I would like to turn this arc "correction" off completely since it's "corrections" arent really corrections at all, they gouge my parts, but I can't seem to be able to find where I might do this in either the operator or builder steup of the controller. Also, this seems to happen more frequently on 180-360 degree arcs ...... What I find most odd is that the other Anilam 3300MK we have does not this.

| If your controllers are identical models, and one is acting up, I would suspect some kind of hardware malfunction, such as a failing circuit board. I have no idea what your controller looks like inside, though, so you'd best get a real service technician on the phone for help. If the controller tells you that there is an error, is this just "after the fact" when it does an in-position check when the arc is completed, and then attempts to correct it, or does it halt with an error before it does the faulty arc?

| It halts with an error before it does the faulty arc (I'm pretty sure....) . I have set the Maximum Arc Correction to 0.000, thinking at first this would stop it from correcting arcs, when all it did was stop the error messeges and I'm still gouging parts every now and then. They are identical models, though one (the one that does the gouging) was bought about 2 years after the first and has a faster processer and Im sure upgraded versions of whatever operating software its running.

| I'd suggest you post a sample of the actual nc code you are using, in a circumstance where your controller gives you the fault. Preferably, you should also post a drawing so we can check whether there is some fault with the code output. Personally, I know it is annoying when your controller hangs with an error, but if the end point is truely incorrect, then it is doing you a favour by refusing to cut the arc. There is no reason for a mathematical error in the nc code, if that is the cause of the problem. If exactly the same code will run through one controller, and not the other, then the problem is in the hardware, or perhaps the (programmable Eprom) firmware of your controller. I trust that both controllers are set up with identical requirements for arc coordinate input?

| Buried, No luck with the number I PM you? Let me know what they told you and I'll see if I can get you to somebody else at Anilam. Tid bit: Anilam is Malina spelled backwards. Jay Malina was the guy who started Anilam, now a part of Heidenhain.

They are hard as heck to get a hold of. they never return my calls. etc... I am very fustrated with the service. I bought this machine from perfomance Mchine and they arent much help either. So this is why I am asking the people here to hear my cry of help. Thanks, George |

| Worked for me Don't know if anyone still has this problem, but I ran into it after finally brushing up on Surfcam after 10 years off. First, Anilam CAM support is non existent. They suck. Just tell you to generate G code and convert to Conversational and you are on your own. What finally worked for me was to go into Operator setup and Change Circle center to incremental from modal. It hasn't given me the message since. Luck Jim F |
