Hercus V300 COMPUMILL DNC

Hey everyone, This is my first of many post's, just found the site.

Anyway,
I have two Hercus machines with "ANCA 2000"controllers, one is a Compulathe and the other a Compumill. I have the manuals but they don't decribe anything about using the DNC function, I would really like to get this working as the machines can only hold 24000 characters.
Anyone with any info on these machines would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the company is still around, have you tried emailing them? That would be my first shot.

edit- If you do not have any success I would try a standard RS-232 Null-modem cable, if the machine is set for hardware handshake then this may work, otherwise try the same cable and implement software handshake on the PC end.

That was a quick reply, Its 1:16AM here.

I have sent emails to them and they offered to fit a new controller for a huge sum of money, I'm using a null modem cable and hyper terminal at the moment to send files to the machine and this works fine.
The problem is when I select DNC on the machine it just goes back a menu and doesn't respond to any commands, I suppose it could have been an option when new and these machines have the menu item but it's not operational??

That is probabally like Fanuc, all the options are present but they send a technican out to turn on 1 bit in the parameters and charge $1000~$3000 for the pleasure.

I have recently obtained a Hercus Computlathe Model 2000LVL1 which in in need for some restoration and rapairs. I found this forum/site after some key word searches on google. I would like very much to get this machine up and running. I am looking for any manuals or schematics or info to get me started with this project . Please contact me on bpracing@people.net.au
