| I am using nanotec stepper motors 1200 oz/in. However I am continuously losing steps on Y axis (X axis Has two Steppers). My setup is like this: Stepper Motor: ST8718L4008 1200 oz/in–serially Connected (200Steps/ Revolution) Driver: Gecko Drive Microstepper set at 10 steps reduction DC Motor Voltage: 48VDC (Mean Well 6 Amp Power Supply for Y axis only to avoid problems) Current: set at 4 AMP (62K Ohm Resistor) (On the motor it says 4 amp, However, on the website specifications it says 2.83 Amp) Steps per Inch: 449.1715 (Direct - NO gearbox installed) Mechanical Drive: is square and OK using Rack and pinion. Type of Design cutting: continous carving with small Circumference movements Note: When cutting straight lines, Squares, and Circles the Machine is OK Could you please advice me of what could be the problem, and how could I solve it. Best Regards, Hani Al Mandeel |

| If I'm reading the document for that motor correctly its a 8 wire motor, 4A per phase. How do you have it wired, bipolar series, bipolar parallel, bipolar half coil? Your best option is bipolar parallel, and your current would be set to 140 percent of your nameplate rating or 5.6A. Also what software are you using?
