Okuma communication problem

We've recently added another LC20 with a 3000 no screen control. This one came with a box labeled "Okuma----Trakware Data". We can download the programs from the control to a pc, but for some reason we can't upload the programs from the pc to the control. I get no errors and the "tape read" light stays on as if it's doing its job. Does anyone have documentation for the "Trakware Data box".
I've experimented with all kinds of data combos with no success.

Don't have any experience with this device, but I am wondering why you can't connect directly from the PC to the RS-232 port of the OSP-3000.

Paul...thanks for your reply. However the older Okumas only had an Amphenol type plug for a cable to connect to a Facit 4070 tape punch. The RS 232 ports were on the BTR units that were installed to eliminate the paper tapes. I do connect to the RS232 port, but for some reason the communication is only one way.

For some reason I am thinking you need the software from Trakware to communicate to their box.

We have run into a few customers that have old systems with their software and tried to upgrade to new PCs with Windows 2000 or XP and the software would not run. Thus, they could not communicate to the Trakware Data box.

We also tried using other software like Hyperterminal and Predator to communicat to them with no success.

Once we replace the Trakware hardware and used Predator's BTR and software, the machine was working.

We do sell BTRs if you have no success in locating their software.
