| Sorry if this is not the right thread. Having read many threads, all recommend 6 limit switches for a gantry router/mill. One on each end. Does anyone see any problem with single switch on each axis activated by a ramp at each end. The switches connected in series. The switch having a roller and the ramps adjustable to set the limit positions. I will be using Mach3 and a HobbyCNC controller

| One overtravel limit switch per axis with two ramps per switch will work just fine as you have described. If you wire them in series, I would recommend that you use the normally closed contacts so that all switches make a complete chain in series, and opening a single contact would break the chain and trip the overtravel input. (Perhaps you had this in mind already, I was just checking) Brian |
