| The last 'real' DOS was in found in Win 98. The 'dos' in XP is psuedo dos at best. Don't count on XP functioning reliably if you really need a DOS program to work. The way I see it, the Wintel folks provide DOS support as a courtesy BUT they'd like for you to stop using it and for it (DOS) to simply go off and die. Could this be why the XP 'dos' isn't truly reverse compatible with "real DOS"??? |
