Ktb100, Did you find anything out on this? Just picked up the same machine as you with a serial port and have been told that these machines didn't come from the factory with RS-232 ports. I'm guessing/hoping that it's an aftermarket unit and not some sort of proprietory interface for the tape punch. Let me know what you found out. Thanks

I have not done a great deal of research at all on this yet. Actually, I think I will attend the IMTS this year and look for a BTR that may work for this. I have seen similar items at other shows and think this will be the route I take. If you find anything out, PLEASE let me know. THANKS !!!! |

Shawn, You can get a BTR from this company, www.adrco.com. I use these on several machines including my Yasnac 2000G Mori.

You can get a BTR from Predator Software (http://www.predator-software.com/Pre...R_Hardware.htm) with from 128K, 512K, or 2MB of memory.

The predator BTR is manufactured by ADR. If you look at ADR's reseller list, Shop Floor Automation's is listed which is a reseller of the Predator BTR (click on hardware then BTR). Same card with different badging but you may get a better buy. Good luck.

We offer a direct BTR link for the 2000G. A special BTR cable connects the parallel printer port on a standard PC to the Yasnac CPU board (where the tape reader plugs in now). The cost is lower than a BTR board, and it gives you the ability to edit files on a PC while you're running parts. It also lets you network that PC so you can share files with your office network. Contact John Hosmon at john@rym.com If you do have the serial board in this machine, you will have a 25-pin plug with non-standard pin assignments. The usual pins for RS232 are used for the Facit 4070 paper tape punch outputs. Yasnac typically used pins 14-19 on this same plug for the serial signals. A custom RS232 cable is required.
