I am new to te world of CNC. Purchased a Sherline Mill and Servo and controller system. There seems to be a problem with noise the DC motor is producing when operating at top speed. Servo's lose position or controller issues an error message. Have shielded leads etc and still problem. Has anyone solved this problem and if so how? |

| What makes you think it is noise? Make sure the encoders are not run with the DC motor armature leads and also to minimize EMI, the motor leads should be run tightly twisted and also shielded if possible. Al.

| If you are using the DeskCNC servos, it is not necessary to shield the motor power cables. You do need to take some care with the encoder cables. A description of the 12 foot cables we use on our Sherline servo systems: "These cables are 100% tested and certified to accurately transmit, quadrature encoder pulses at speeds up to 85,000 steps per second.
