I recently bought a Mori Seiki MV-35 with a Fanuc 6MB control. I wired the machine up and everything was fine until I programmed a tool change. I had not turned the valve on for the air supply and it did a partial tool change but froze up with the tool arm engaged at the spindle. There was no tool in at the time. I have gotten everything back where it started by manually actuating the solenoids but the ER3 light is still on and I can only move the machine in the X and Y axis. I have no manuals and need help in resetting the tool changer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Doug |

| I should have the recovery procedure at work. It's all done by releasing interlocks and using mcodes. I'm pretty sure that machine has a 60 deg and 120 rack powered by hydraulics. They can be a real pia to get back sometimes. |

| infinityprecmac, I have the same problem. The automatic tool change LED is on, Z axis is inoperable using MPG mode or Home mode. There is an error code 250 (I don't know what to look for), but the other error codes 240-259 are all clear. PC Parameters 3000-3011 are normal (what was documented from the previous owner). Any ideas? Any info. would be appreciated. |

Do you have the manuals? I didn't and got it running with the hit and miss method. I didn't write this stuff down but vaguely remember clearing 3000-3005 parameters and setting 4000 parameter to zero and then I was able to recover the changer thru M codes. I would suggest keeping a notebook and writing down everything you do. I recently sold that machine and gave the buyer all of the documentation I had. Good Luck, Douglas |
