tool changer going funky

I have a 92 Lagunmatic 3516 with a dynapath 20 control.
Here is my problem.
When the carousel is in the tool change position and ready to retract back to home position, it jerks back and forth about 1/2" or so like it's lost. I can hear the valve changing the air direction but it shouldn't be doing that. What tells the valve to change directions? If I push the carousel back by hand then it goes to home position. I am lost on this one after checking air,switches and alignment.

I do not know your machine. But, I would examine all limit switches on the tool changer carousel, as well as limit switches on the drawbar mechanism of the spindle. Check for gumminess and so on. If the control is not getting the "all clear" for a drawbar operation being completed, then perhaps this could be the reason that the carousel will not retract properly.

I checked the 2 on the carousel and they seem fine. I don't know about one being on the drawbar but will check.

I checked the switches on the draw bar and they are fine. I can do a "M" function to move the carousel in and out with no problem but when I do a tool change, after the tool clamps it goes crazy. I'm lost
