Predator receives, does not send?

I am using a cable configuration provided by Predator for a 9 pin to 25pin. It immediately allowed me to upload from my controller/machine to my xp computer, once I understood the process. However I can not seem to start a dowload. The machine is ready or claims to be and seems to never receive a signal from the pc. Upon opening the Predator send, it is already at 94%. Does it possibly need some form of start signal or key and if so how is it applied. I heard a % key was sometimes required at the beginning and end of the file. Upon uploading a demo file from the controller into my pc, I dont see any particular symbols.
Would the file help?

These are the settings as per the manufacturer, though they want to sell me some software. I did use the dnc wizard from the DNC4U program and it shows stop bits to be 2. I have tried it both ways with no difference. Uploads are fine, all parts seem to be correct. I did take my port tester and plug it into the machine only. Looking at the DB25 connector itself within the machine, only wires 2,3,4,5 & 7 are even physically connected. When powered up led's 2 (green) and 4(red) are on all else are off. I see no change in the led's no matter if I am going thru an upload or download sequence. Of course I am only doing this without a cable connected thru just to see if it would light any of the other leds as a signal to send or receive.

If I jump pin 4 to pin 5 (still with only the port tester on /no cable). The code will start going thru its sequence as if it is uploading. This will not happen without the jumper. Not sure what that means but it is all that changed anything so far. When those 2 pins are jumpered and the code is moving on the controller screen, pin 2 flickers from green to red. pins 4&5 are red.

The other settings though the parity doesnt match in this photo. I have tried it on both 1 & 2. That 2nd attachment in this post I am not sure at all about the FIFO or the buffers but I tried it without it and no luck.

Ok 1 more of the wiring diagram to the RS232 port. It shows a wire on pin 6 described as signal ground. It is physically on pin 7 (which is typically signal ground on RS232 from what I have read). I have noticed in my Dyna manuals, they are vague, sometimes incorrect and have hand written, barely legible and hard to understand notes with arrows and such. According to the latest document I have, pin 6 at the machine is jumpered to pin 5? Pin 6 has no wiring! So much for their guidance. I would think that if I can receive, I must be very close to being able to send. Wouldnt you agree? So since jumping pins 4-5 allows the file to scroll (I would guess this same jumper would allow my pc to scroll also) even though I wasnt transferring anything. Could I download a serial port test analyzer of some kind and get any valid information? With pins 4-5 jumpered pin 2 is green, pin 4 red and pin 5 is red.

Pin 3 seems to not do anything that I can see. It is supposed to be the receive data pin according to my testers diagram and according to Dyna.

Final request...

1. How is your Predator DNC Properties set?

2. How is your cable from the CNC to the PC wired?

DC the attachments show my settings, the wiring of the cable was using the pinout provided by predator that you showed me. This wiring arrangement does allow upload but not download (not sure if it is a wiring or settings issue. Today I think I will build a straight thru cable that allows me to jump pins without figuring which pins are swapped. Just to eliminate any error til pin issues are solved. Being that only pins 2,3 4,5 & 7 are the only physical connections. I think pins 2 & 3 and 4 & 5 need to be crossed over and pin 7 to pin 7. The issue of the code starting to scroll only when pins 4&5 were jumpered at the machine might be the same for the pc so that is why I was thinking a 4-5 crossover not a jumper as is shown in the Dyna manual. The predator diagram that you provided wouldnt allow the download at the moment and after opening up my machine and seeing no wires on pins 6,8 or 20, I dont see the need for the jumper. So it makes me a little skeptical of the diagram. However I am also skeptical of anything provided by Dyna as it has generally been wrong. I am really suspicious that pins 4 & 5 are responsible for the initiation of the communication, pins 2 & 3 are the send and receive data pins the way I understand it. Just thinking out loud mostly. I am determined to make it work and it does seem I am too close to go back!

Your Flow is set to Hardware. Set it to Software. This should allow Predator to send without RTS/CTS handshake.
