| Have a dynapath 20 and a Tree Journeyman 325 that i am trying to get in working condition. I have been working out one kink at a time, but it seems i have hit a brick wall. When i turn everything on, i get an error message that reads: FAULTS: EMERGENCY STOP ENTER RESET TO CONTINUE PIC REVISION #000 - 10/20/86 I have everythin all plugged up (i think) when i turn everything on i get this error and i cannot jog with the machine, it does nothing! Anyone have any idea what any of that means? any help at all would be very apreciated, thanks a bunch! |

| Check the Estop circuit, beginning with pushing or releasing the Estop button. Any open in this circuit should shut down the servo drives, so it is normal that nothing will happen while you are getting this alarm.

| The faults you see are normal for a dynapath control that is in e-stop. The PIC revision message is put in by the machine builder and doesn't really mean anything to you. You just have to figure out why it's in e-stop . If the drives need to be turned on manually, you should have a MACHINE ON, MACHINE START, RESET, or something similar on your control panel. If this isn't the case, it's probably something in the wiring of the e-stop circuit like Hu said. If you have the wiring diagrams of the machine, look for limit switches or relay contacts that are part of the e-stop circuit. It could be an overtravel switch, a motor overload or some other safety circuit that's preventing the machine from starting. Depending on the machine builder, these causes don't always display a message on the screen (other than the emergency stop that you see already).Hope this helps, Scott |

Yes, I have had this issue as well. You will need to try a few items: 1) Don't forget to hit reset 2x's when you are looking at the faults. 2) You can try bypassing bypass the door switch and the other (overide switch that is next to the door closed switch). 3) Use your hand to turn the ball screws to ensure that you are not on a hardware estop limit. I have had to do this when I first got it to ensure that I could drive it around. I can be specific if you do not know what switches I'm referring to. Cheers, Bill |

| I had a similar problem with my Dynapath; I was out of way oil in the automatic oilier. The machine would do nothing. I added the oil and restarted the machine, error went away and all was well. I hope your problem is as simple. |

| Will it jog around if you hold down the reset button? I run that same machine at work and when it is just turned on I think it has the same faults. I hit reset ones and you can hear a click and the drives kick in then you have to manually jog x y z around to line up arrows for home, then hit R button, then jog X Y X that will set home position. I will look at machine tomorrow to see if it shows the same faults as yours. | I have the same Journeyman 325 machine with the same controller (Dynapath 20) and the same problem with the EMERGENCY STOP - ENTER RESET TO CONTINUE message. I just purchased the machine and don't have wiring diagrams. I have tested 4 micro swithches for the axis (x,y,quill,& knee) and the way lube switch. What I did find was the only the quill limit switch has power (24v) and can hear the relay click as I active the switch. All the others show no power and no relay action. I have all green lights on the Dynapath controller and the servo controller in the back. Does anyone know where this 24v power comes from or are there any machine wiring diagrams available. Thanks, Chris |
