    ynneb, did you make these?

    Gorgeous.

I love the whole steampunk thing, one day I'd like to try it out for myself.

Hi Ron, No I did not make these, but shamelessly borrowed them to demonstrate what I was talking about.

The project I am contemplating is a steampunk grandfather clock. In the lower part of the clock I want to have a glowing liquid chamber that looks like a mad scientist nuclear cell.

Did you ever see Metropolis 1927 film? When the scientist energised the robot there were radiation rings floating around her. I want to somehow simulate that in the clock too. Any suggestions how?

I'm a huge fan of steampunk, and also retro tech including nixies, and this steampunk nixie clock is just spectaular! I'm hoping when properly setup to get the time to work on some nice clocks, although it would be very hard for me to top this one:

Limited edition Steampunk Nixie Clock » Coolest Gadgets

A Metropolis effect styled clock would be awesome, although I can't imagine how you'd create the glowing rings other than some sort of directed LED arrangement reflecting on the inside of the glass case?

    cheers,
    Ian

It's rumoured that everytime someone buys a TB6560 based board, an engineer cries!

    Steampunk Robot

    Hello!
I'm new to posting here...love steampunk.
    I thought I'd share a project I completed last year. It's a 3-legged
robot with a driver inside. It's a combination of cnc work, with hand sculpting (epoxy). He stands just about 7' tall. Very much inspired by Weta's Dr. Grordbort rayguns...entered him in a contest which is why he's holding the logo...now he holds my shop sign. The cnc portions were completed on my CarveWright. I'll have my first Shopbot in a few weeks, and I can't wait.
