Schaublin Lathe Bosch alpha parameters

Hi, I have a Schaublin 128 CNC metal lathe, with Bosch Alpha control. My problem is, when I change a machine parameter i.e. the x- offset ; the machine loses its parameters. I already exchanged the memory battery, and I also have the parameters on a pc. So when I reload the parameters, and reboot the machine the parameters are gone.

Can somebody help me?

Sorry my english is not very good, I can´t help you, but I need help for the same CNC in a schublin 102 (turn). Y have one and don´t work. Do you have any manual or information?

I once got some help from a man at Bosch who repairs the Alpha. I think his name was Herbie but it was a few years ago - I don't know if he still works there.

I have a manual (book) for you, but it is in Dutch. I can send it to
you, but I think you need an English one. But what is your problem, I
have 7 years of experience working and servicing this lathe, so be free to send me your question. By the way, the problem with the parameters is fixed.
(replaced a battery)

Hi Geert,

We buy the machine control with out power supply, now we could fix de power supply and it is working now, the panel control works but we can’t enter the parameters or any thing. I want to know if the control have a proceed to reset or something similar for the first power on.

Hi Ernesto,

If you replaced the power supply, then the parameters are gone also. This means you have to enter a few, to make the machine communicate with a pc, or a punch-tape reader.
I am at home right now, spending my holiday. In 3 weeks I'll be back at work where I have my documents about this lathe. But if I remember it right, it was the combination [MODE]+[N1] and then enter 1980. The red display shows you offsets from X-axis and Z-axis. If you enter further (don't bother the offsets) then you get COMMS mode. It 's in your manual also. Use 14 for 9600 Baud. CRT must be also 14. Default is 7 (off). To read in machine parameters use [MODE]+[N1]. To send machine parameters use an old at-pc or max. a 286 with DOS with a special serial cable, or the tape machine. Then use Comms mode 7 for 600 baud. I have original documents, but then you have to wait for a few weeks. If you restart the machine the screen will work. If not, replace the battery under the console from the machine. You can order the parts at FARNELL.(google)

Hi Geert,

I tray to do it, and don´t work. I have a doubt, when you put [MODE]+[N1] you can see some thing in the red little screen, what I see when a start the machine is a message [ 844 parity ], if I press the green key the message is gone, when a press [MODE]+[N1] I don´t see nothing. I think that is not the way the controls have to respond.

This page has info about the cable you must use to communicate with the Schaublin interface. If you receive a parity error, try to clear the memory with G37 (freeing memory) and then G39 (clearing memory). If you press [mode][n1] enter 1980 after it, and then you are in the parameter receiving-mode.

I'll be back in 3 weeks, then I can help you better because I then have access to our manuals and software.

I still have the problem whith the machine, when a press [MODE]+[N1] I don’t see nothing. I think that is not the way the controls have to respond; Do you know if the control have a secuence to reset or some thing similar?

Hello Jai a tour Schaublin 102 CNC control with Bosch Alpha 2 that I am restored.
May gord problem I can not seem to master the running.
I really find information on the Bosch console alpha 2 May saddled really does not help me I place information here below in the Appendix.
Question 1: heal you if the console was empty machine data it will tell me anything.
Question 2: The console shows me an error (ERR + X + Z) how to resolve the error.
I also place pictures of the console if a person has never worked with the Bosch Alpha 2 console and he wants to give me advice for starting up the machine luis I thank in advance.

u hebt geschreven dat u informatie heeft over de alfa besturing en/of de draaibank zelf. heeft u deze informatie nog en zou u dit willen delen met mij.
