    Help with Macro

    Hello All

I need a little help. I have made a touch off plate and have been using it pretty succesfully. I am now working on making several parts out of 1" HDPE.
I have noticed that there is quite a variance in the thickness of the hdpe stock. What I would like to do is use my touch off plate to measure the thickness of my raw stock. I have a spoil board on my mill table that is made of hardboard so what I was thinking is touch the tool to the touch plate sitting on the hardboard, then set the plate on the top off my stock and repeat and get the thickness of the stock. This would save me a bunch of time as then I could just change mydepth of cut in my facing routine for each peice so that I can get consistant thickness results.

Anyone be able to help me with a macro for doing something like this?

    Thanks

    Walt

I may be misunderstanding your question, but if you touched off your spoil board for reference, and then cut to your desired thickness, wouldn't that be a more direct way to get where you are going?
