Never heard of PID before this Mach Motion/Mach3 retrofit on my V2XT. I have read the manual (and everything else there is to read) for many hours. Motors are stock SEM servo with stock encoders. Encoders seem to be working fine. I have all the axis input done correctly in Axis Works. I am at the point where I can make the axis move very slowly (in Axis Works) but I'm not sure what my PID objective is. Most everything is written assuming you are already an expert... Anybody have some PID settings I can start with from you similar machine make might make some sense? My Z axis is still jumpy and I still have to figure that one out but like I said Im not quite sure what Im trying to achieve with the tuning or what most of the PID settings are. Just looking for a place to start. Thanks, RonO |
