I see a bug with Mach 2, if you let's say stop the program(meaning g code program) with the bit still in the work and hit rewind and than hit play. Instead of Mach moving the Z Axis to a safe distance above the work it just does a rapid move and moves X,Y,Z all at the same time. Now if the Z has a slower acceleration than the other axis it will be a bit breaker. To me Mach should always Z up before doing a rapid move, now maybe all I have stated would not be the case if using switches, but I have not trusted that out yet. One on version their was a problem with drilling and the bit not being clear before rapid moving, but that has since been fixed.

| Not overly familure with mach2 yet (still learning) but on most commercial CNC machines the machine only does what its programmed to do. So if your rewinding (I assume to the begining of program) The machine dosn't know and dosn't care what is between it and the move to coordinates it just moves.... so YES it is a bit breaker! ask me how I know ![]() Michael t. |

![]() Yep, CNC are not that smart. Don't know how many tools I've broken because the CNC didn't know better than the programmer/opertor... |
