using new screen with old profile?

I am working on the 'another aussie build' z height setter and have it working on my machine. The problem I am having is that I load the modified 1024 screenset and change my pin settings and save everything, but each time I return to mach 3 I now get a blank white screen except for the top bar until I load the modified 1024 screen. I then have to go and change the macro again... somewhere here I'm missing something.

How can I change my profile to start up with the modified 1024 screenset and also get it to remember the changes i make to the hidden button code?

    Thanks!

Make sure the screen .set and your .xml are not set to read only. That's the only thing I can think of.

    Okay,
Neither file was read only but that got me looking for stuff like that -- turns out the folder it was in was read only. I turned that off and still had the problem. Gave up, took the file out of the folder and just dumped it in Mach's folder and wouldn't you know it, it is fixed.

You are the greatest trouble-shooter of all time I think.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
