    Screen4 question

I'm playing around with Screen4 (I know, I should be using Machscreen). I selected new, 1024x768, and then put a couple of buttons and a DRO on the page to test something. I saved it, and then started Mach3, and selected my test screen. The buttons and DRO are huge! They're off the screen! Do I have to put some kind of boundary in the test page to constrain it? Help!

No, but it sounds like you're making the buttons big to start with. Right click on them and you can enter the size. Most of the buttons on my Aqua screen are about 50x100.

    Screen4 question

Gerry: thanks for the response. They're not big! 60x80. They're near the upper right corner of the screen. I tried putting a button in the lower left corner, and then I could see everything, but only if the window is maximized. Mach3 seems to think that the window should be expanded to the monitor's native resolution, which in this case is 1440x900. I did select 1024x768 to begin with, which is the resolution of the monitor that's going to be on the mill. This is not a serious problem, obviously. I could set up another computer with a 1024x768 monitor just to work on Mach3 screens. But it would be nice if there was some way to make Mach3 operate in a 1024x768 window on my main computer.

I'm been playing around with that jog step thing, and I've made some progress. I found out that you can change the step defaults in general config, so with a jog mode toggle button, and a jog increment step button, I can change from continuous to step, and step through the increments I want to use. Not ideal, but better. Pretty soon I'll try some VB scripts.

It would be nice if the buttons had an option of having alternate texts, based on some signal. E.G., Step and Continous. Can you change button texts with a script? Ditto for LED buttons - two different images based on a signal. The ultimate would be an image button with two different images, based on a signal. Is there any way to do that?

Turn off Auto Screen Enlarge in Mach3 under general config. Then restart Mach3 and it'll be at 1024x768.

To get a two state button, you create a two state LED and place a transparent image button on top of it. You might want to download my Aqua screen and look at it. Most of the buttons are like that. You can get here.
