Analog controll options

I have heard a lot of good things about Mach Software and was thinking of using it to replace the controller on my mill.
I have got big DC servo's on all 3 axis and would like to keep them and the 0-10V servo amps if possible. I would also like to make a closed loop sysytem with a Galil or similar motion controller card. Does Mach support Analog systems yet? any plans to do so for the very near future?

What other (cost effective) alternatives is there out there that works?

Pieter

have you looked at emc2? (free - opensource) There is a bit of hardware that works with +/-10v amps. (mesa, pico systems to name a few)

http://linuxcnc.org/

Emc2 would close the PID loop within the computer. Emc then also knows the position of your axis. (feedback goes back to emc) You can download the livecd and play with emc. (it is linux - but don't be scared )

Probably the least expesive solution I can think of other than finding some pixi like hardware that would turn your amps into step/dir drives. (But you would be better off not going that route in my opinion)

Buy me a Beer?

I believe this unit works with Mach to enable feedback and ±10vdc control.

Mach3 works with Galil, there is a plugin for it.
If you doing a machine for money, go with the Mach3 Galil option it is bullet proof. Havent had any problems out of Galil/Mach3 retrofits.

You DO get what you pay for, plus GREAT customer support, with people who will help you, and NOT give you a bunch of Grief.

Goto the WWW.MachSupport.com, then goto forum, then scroll down to the Galil thread. More and more capability is being added to the plugin all the time, via Steve and Kenny. They just added 3D probing, and several other nice things.
