Constant Velocity settings

My homebuilt machine (router) using mach 3 runs choppy on arcs. When I set it to run on CV mode, my steppers stall. I,m only running the machine at 48ipm. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I slow down my feed rates? I would like to double my feed rates but can't seem to work it out. Any suggestions on motor tunings? Running keling 425's with 24v PS. 1/2-10 Acme's.
Thanks, Jeff

Buy me a Beer?

Turn off all CV options, both in General Config and on Settings page.

But I think I want to run in CV mode. Won't that make my machine move smoother? Should I try to slow my feeds till it no longer stalls? Should I just leave it alone? I run some programs with a lot of curves. My feeds are set at 48 but the machine fluctuates between 4 and 18 through 90% of the cutting.
Wouldn't this be a case of "slow down to go faster"? If I lowered my feeds to 30ipm with CV mode on, wouldn't it cut this in about 1/2 the time? Or, am I just confused? Also, what are the pro's and con's of CV mode please.
Thanks, Jeff

Turn off the CV options, not CV mode.

If you're not reaching the commanded feedrate, it's probably due to a low acceleration setting. What is your accel set at?

My accelerations are set low, about 4 or 5 I believe.

Can you get them up to 8 or 9? You'll see much faster cut times. Even if you have to lower the velocity a bit.
