| I am having very strange motion ever since I downloaded the most recent Mach3. It was moving just fine before, but now I get this sart/stop motion. The motors turn very smoothly in the Motor Tuning Config, but the moment I try to run G code (or do a go to zero) I get this strange halting motion. It moves motors in about 5 second bursts with a 2 second or so stop. This happens regardless of the feed or rapid rates. Any feed rate from 10 to 150 ipm. Otherwise the motion seems correct. Any ideas? TX! PS. Since there were no upgrade instructions I simply downloaded the most recent Mach 3 and installed it in the same directory as the existing install. The install never prompted me to unistall the earlier version, nor did it recognize that it was an upgrade. It claimed to be re-installing the driver. Is that normal? |

| Thats pretty normal for an install. When you revert back to an older one, then it lets you know you are trying to use an older version over a new one. Check your backlash compensation or exact stop or constant velocity.

| No, I have no backlash settings. The "Enable backlash" is not checked. In the "General Config..." screen the "Motion Mode" is "Constant Velocity". I don't know if there are other places to check. Again, it jogs just fine. It is only when running g-code. Thx. |

| Still no solution. Here is a bit more information. Perhaps some has an idea: Version: Version R3.042.029. In fact, the problem started when I upgraded to this version. When running g-code the motors stop at regular intervals and the DRO's show the stops. For example, if I start from x0y0 and g0 to x10y10 it will travel EXACTLY 2.5328" on both axis, stop, then travel 2.5328" more, stop, etc, until it reaches x10y10. The DRO's will show: 0.0000, then 2.5328, then 5.0656, then 7.9584, etc. It does this to both axis in sync. I can run the g-code back and forth from x0y0 and x10y10 and it will always stop at the same places. If I move just one axis instead of two at a time, the distance changes (2.5926" at rapids) but will always stop at the same distance. if I do g1 rather than g0, the distance changes depending on the feed rate. However, if the feedrate doesn't change the stops will all be at the same distance. I hope that tells somebody something, because I am totally stumped. Thanks, |

| Some people on the mach forum have had problems with this version. Probably best to go back to an older one.

No your not. The license will work with any version of Mach3.

| If you go back (020 version works great) do a manual uninstall of the Mach pulsing engine. Use the Add/Remove Hardware in Windows and find the MACH engine (shows up as a "device") and remove it there. Do the Windows uninstall for the software as well THEN install the MACH3 version that works for you. TOM Caudle www.CandCNC.com |

| Will uninstalling the software eliminate my license? If I remember right, the license is an actual file I can copy and then copy back into the Mach3 directory once I have re-installed the old version. Is that right? Does anyone know what the license file is called and where to find it? Oh, and how do I find the older 020 version? Thanks, |

| I think it's mach1lic.dat or something like that. Just copy it and paste it back in after the reinstall.
