Rotary table homing - How?

I've used the search function and looked at the entire site for: rotary table homing.

Found a few posts, but none really gave me anything to gon on.

How do you setup a rotary table to home to 0º? I have a Sherline 4" rotary table.

Any suggestions would be appreciated for where and how to mount.

Vogavt,

Enter A0 in the MDI window to home the A axis.

See attached .jpg

See the other image for Fixittt's 4th axis limit switch solution.

The mount may look a little primitive however it works.

Digikey sells the switches, they are fairly inexpensive.

Digikey Part Numbers:

Normally open magnetic switch part number
59020-010-ND

Normally closed magnetic switch part number
59025-040-ND

Magnetic cylinder for switch activation
57025-000-ND

Wow! That was a quick response and I appreciate the effort for the screen shots and real life photo.

You listed both an open and a closed switch. Since my other homing switches are all NC, wouldn't it make sense to use that style? I'm assuming you mentioned both only for preference sake. Correct?

An added bonus with the picture of the rotary table for me was to see the fixture and how it's used. I now see why the mounts are angled on the sides. I thought they were to get some additional material out of the way to allow easier touching with the work piece. LOL!

Thanks!

Thumbs up

Vogavt,

Yes,

If your other homing switches are all NC, it makes sense to use the same style.

Most users would suggest and prefer N.C. to help eliminate noise issues as well as safety concerns.

The original poster "Fixittt", was kind enough to list all the available parts.

The four jaw chuck has a lot of versatility, very handy to say the least.
