I've had this problem before but forgot how to fix it. It's been almost 2 years since running my machine and I'm having to re-learn Mach. The problem is: I'm running 3 axis'. I have 2 steppers on my X axis so I am using X and A together in Mach3. When I "ref all home" it homes Z then Y then X then A but I don't have a limit switch on A - so it tries to ref A and messes up my axis. Before, I could get X and A to ref together and both steppers would turn together - now, both turn to reference X (good) then only A turns to ref A(bad) how do I fix this this? Also, all my settings are the same in Mach as they were when everything was running correctly. Am I missing something, does it have to be in machine coord. mode? |

| I'm not quite sure I follow you. I went to operator menu, there was a vb script editor but not an "edit button script". I did find a file in the Mach folder called m1076.m1s and opened it with vb script editor bit there were no "DoButton" lines in it. |

| What version of Mach3 are you using? If an older version, you may need to edit it with the older screen designer, Screen3.

| I have the same problem with the REF ALL HOME command. I'm using both Y and A motors for the Y-axis. That command moves my slaved A-axis motor separately from the Y-axis motor (they move together only with manual jog). Here is a screen-shot of the Operator > Edit Button Script menu. What's necessary to do in order to run my A and Y motors always together? Thanks ![]() |

| Unfortunately, even that code was not able to fix my problem and Y & A axes still move separately ONLY when I activate the REF ALL HOME button. Is there any other way to correct the things? I did a little trick by jogging the gantry just one millimeter away from the Y/A home switch activation, so when the program activated my Y-axis motor (the slaved A-motor was "dead" at the same time) the gantry's left side moved only ~3 millimeters further and then moved back to the original (set by me) position. I also used a black marker to ensure that the gantry will return to the exact position. This is how I cheated the program after I was unable to do the things via the "software way". |

| If you only have a single home switch, go to Config>General Config and check "Home Slave with Master Axis".

| You need to get a newer version of Mach3. It was added a few months ago.

Well, I suppose this is the main problem with my Mach3 - it's an older version . I have downloaded the demo from www.machsupport.com few months ago and now I see a newer version there. Thanks for the advice, I'm going to install it and obtain a license soon I hope it won't ask me to reconfigure everything after each update. |
