I have 3 YASKAWA Sigma II drives and the Step Direction from are not labeld that way they are labled as follows Puls \ pin 7 CW > Puls / pin 8 (ref to Gnd) Sign \ Pin 11 CCW > Sign/ Pin 12 (ref to Gnd) does this mean that pin 7 is the step and pin 11 is the Dir with a common to Gnd? |

| Sigma’s like a differential input. In the SigmaII book check out chapter 5, page 17. Look for the line driver example 1. You could use a SN75174 or a MC3487 to drive the step and dir signals. If you used Gnd you would end up with a unstable system due to noise. I don't recommend using Gnd. Also don't forget to take care of CLR input. You will need to drive the signal hi or low to get the drive to accept Puls and Dir signals. Kris |

| "I have 3 YASKAWA Sigma II drives and the Step Direction from are not labeld that way they are labled as follows Puls \ pin 7 CW > Puls / pin 8 (ref to Gnd) Sign \ Pin 11 CCW > Sign/ Pin 12 (ref to Gnd)" Pulse = step, Sign = Dir, you have a differential input there, where the "/" pin is your NOT pin. Look at the input diagrams of your drive. Look at the direction the "Optos" are facing. If you using a BOB like one from CNC4PC, you can Change the polarity of your "commons". to match your drive. tie the two grounds for your Nots "/" (use shielded cable) to the common, and send out your Step to the Puls pin \, and your Dir to the Sign pin \ scott
