general confusion about z axis movement rates

    hi,

when i set the speed of z in the motor/tuning section of mach3 does this value override whatever is output from my cut2d program?

basically i'd like to slow down the z when i'm jogging around looking to zero a material to be milled. when i actually mill the part though, i want my z to be moving along full speed ahead.

i'd appreciated any help you can give me on this one -- i tend to be almost ramming my tools into the table looking to set z right now.

The motor tuning is the fastest the axis can move, and is used for G0 moves. Cut2D should output feedrates that are used during cutting moves (G1,G2,G3).

Hit the TAB key to set the slow jog %, which will allow you to jog as slow as you want.
