I was thinking about buying a Shuttlepro to use as a pendant with Mach. I am looking for comments from anyone who has used one. Do they serve the purpose OK, or are they clumsy to use? I really don't want to spend close to $200 on a real one just yet. I see used Shuttlepros on ebay for under $40. Thanks, John |

| A question to all that are using a shuttle. Have you used an MPG. My guess is no, that was the case with myself till a week ago. I now have an MPG, there is no comparison between them. Cons with the shuttle, in my case changing direction i still had a couple of steps in the wrong direction before the change in direction. Sometimes when jogging i would release the fast jog button but it would continue to jog sometimes forcing an estop. That fact is documented on the Mach users forum. Now the MPG i can spin two turns forward then half a turn back look at the dial the machine will come to rest at the exact position indicated on the MPG. When setup i can see the jog rate as indicated on the selector switch. Currently set one turn is either 100mm, 10mm, or 1mm Phil |

| Phil, No doubt an encoder controled MPG is going to be far superior, however the Shuttle Pro is a easy all in one solution for some users that dont want to build up a pendent. I prefer the encoder driven MPG by the way. Jeff...

| Kipper the shuttle also leaves a lot to be desired on shape. It is meant to be used flat on a table not picked up all the time. I had a DTI in the chuck went to pick up the shuttle it slipped from my grip and hit the spindle key on the keyboard. ![]() I am not saying a shuttle is bad just not as good as an MPG from here http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/index.php Phil |
