A question on mach fairly broad, More as to Design to physical part being created

In summery you design, create g-code or some other type, then give that to an actual program that can make that movement. That i get.

The thing is i want to cut a shape into a cylinder (all the way through).
Now they cylinder is pre exisisting and no work will be done to it other then the cut.

Here is the kicker i have a sheline 3 axis mill (no cnc no a table ect)

With that being said. How do get a circle cut out on that cylinder when thats all you want to do. Now when i draw that in Solid work I need the cylinder to. I that something you edit out with the g code.

Now feel free to fill in the gape the i forgot or dont know about or point me to a tut or faq on said items

Thank you for your direction
Craig

Do a screen print in SW and post a picture of the model. If there is a profile shape within the cylinder, you would be stuck using a rotary table and quite possibly a complex fixture to hold the cylinder in its various positions. If a piston is to move inside that profile, it should be ground, not milled.
