Ok, I have a quick question today- well, two questions really. Here goes:
I have a 3-in-1 Tri-power machine and I haven't had the opportunity to use the CNC lathe feature before. Right now my usual mill setup defines my axes as X being the "horizontal" and Y the cross-slide "vertical" and then Z being the spindle. When I try to run my program via lazycam (basically just reference a line profile DXF. It wants to call my former X-axis the Z axis, and I think it's then calling Y-X.
Any suggestions on how to change/handle this? I almost got it to work by doing a find/replace in the gcode via notepad, but I'm not quite confident enough to try it yet. Is there a good tutorial on the subject? It seems like it ought to be really simple since I'm only dealining with one line and 2 axes.
Second question:
I created my feature in solidworks and exported a dxf drawing. This drawing includes a few spline curves, a few radii, and a straight line or two.
When I open this in lazycam, it's immediately a chunky jagged version of the original. Is there a good way to smooth this out or define it better? Is this because I need to update/register something?
Thanks for any help!
