I have windows 2000 in a 1200 mhz dell computer that I want to use Mach2 with..I don't have the Windows 2000 disc to do a clean install so my question is does everything need to be turned off when I CTL,ALT,DLT...or should something need to keep running............also on a Taig Mill how do you home out with no limit switches...do you use safe Z.....Thanks... |

| Are you talking about processes? You can't remove them all. Download msconfig from here: http://www.perfectdrivers.com/howto/msconfig.html You can remove just about everything in the startup section. When you reboot, you should be much better off.

| Thanks that is exactly what I needed....I did not know that win 2000 did not come with msconfig till I tried it and.....................Nothing The computer with Win 2000 is dedicated to my Mach2 software so I guess I only need system tray running..is this correct? I am waiting on my mill to arrive but I want to pin things down before hand.. |

| I thought I read on the Mach2 forum to delete eveything in the startup tab, but don't take my word for it.
