    Axis acceloration

    hi,

Ive just set up my plasma table and was plaesed that i could use a rapid speed of 10m / min and the max acceloration available at that speed in mach 3 without loosing steps.

The trouble is, when the gantry makes a direction change at rapid speed the accel is so fierce it makes the workshop shake and im concerned its gonna wreck something.

So why not just reduce the accel.? well ive read all over that accel is really important for accurate plasma cutting and at feed speed its nothing like as bad.

So my question is, is there any way i can have a different accel rate for rapid moves than for feed rate moves so i can get good cut results but not tear my machine apart when repositioning?

    Thanks in advance

    matt

You can adjust acceleration ramps in mach3 motor tuning, remember to save the axis after modifying it. Good Luck

No, but why not just slow down the rapids?
