I don't think there is a limit either way. The only actual limit I am aware of would be the number of axes.
I would like to see some results though for the smallest and largest.
    That would be interesting.

I think the limit is the size of drive you can get which accepts step/dir signals.

I will start, I am running a Bridgeport Series 1, 3 axis CNC on mach.

How about this one. Industral pc panel

I've seen videos of Brian, Mach's new developer, running a pretty big machine as well.

that would be a cincinatti 2500? (i can't remember the model number off the top of my head)... 6' Y, 8' X, 5' Z... horizontal machine... z-axis weighs in at approx 10K lbs... 10HP, 4kRPM DC spindle.. and we had 'er running at approx 400 ipm (would have gone MUCH faster, but the screws/ways were only known good for 400)...

gosh what a machine that thing is.. i loved working on it now i wish i could find the video Brian took of it.

I'm curious - what is the largest commercially-available (and in production) Mill that someone could purchase that is Mach 3 controlled?

Are there any "full sized" VMC's that use Mach 3?
