Hi Guys, I wonder how do you control Power invertor in the spindle on the MACH LATHE? On parallel ports, there are steps and direction to control the motion X and Z, but how do you connect to the invertor DRIVE? I don't see too much discussion on MACH LATHE so not quite sure if that's how it can be done. Thank you Jeff |

| Thanks for the response. So it seem like your recommended DigiSpeed GX input will be connected directly to the PARALLEL PORT output that generated 5V PWM from MACH. Then Digispeed GX will generate output 0-5Vdc (0-100%) analog that goes into the frequency invertor? However, isn't most Invertor input receive 0-10Vdc?? (Then 0-5Vdc wouldn't that be just half). Thank you again. Jeff Is this how you guys did it? |

| I believe the Digispeed can be configured for 0-10V as well. Never used one, so don't really know for sure.

| The digispeed control will probably work, there is also a dealer www.cnc4pc.com, I bought one of their step/direction to voltage cards, haven't installed it yet but it looks like it should work fine. I haven't installed mine yet because I just changed out my motor control recently, got some swarf in the controller and burnt it up. I was using a simple homemade design where I used a optical isolation to fire a mosfet that charged a cap through a resistor network ( a simple rc filter), feed my pulse into the optical isolater and coupled the output directly to the motor controls. |
