I'm in the same boat! Help please...

Hello all,

Newbie lurker here. I've been reading and absorbing as much as possible for many months, then made the dive in November and purchased 4 G212's and a G100.
I have started out to do a trial set-up on an old Lightmachines Spectralight I had come upon cheap before I go on to a larger machine and risk expensive damage. One of the problems I am still faced with on this little hobbyist machine is that I can't find any info on the motors, so I'm having to start out current limited down to keep from smoking windings.

Anyway, where I am beating my skull to a bloody pulp is the same spot that cybertek is, and that is setting up the ports and pins for the Grex (G100). I am running the latest Mach 3 version 2.00.031 and the g100 plug-in. I do have firmware loaded and verified working, communication established and heartbeat verified, and everthing wired and have confirmed all is correct. What I can't seem to determine is the Port #1 address to use and then what the pin assignments for the G100 are.

I started out with the default Port address of 0378 to no avail. I tried the address for the network card (don't know why - just thought I'd give it a shot) which is D000, also no good.

I do have power to the steppers, as under power they lock in place, and without they are easy to turn. So far I'm running in circles, and I would really like to pass this hurdle and move on to inputs and outputs.

Anybody?? Even small clues would be greatly appreciated!

Finest regards,

John B.

As you can see
I did not get any responces through this forum
You need to look at the artisoft form for answers
Make shure you have the Plugin installed
once the plugin is installed go to plugins for setup
usr the default settings for the lpt i also have lpt2 checked
then the i/o should be port 1
you will find more detailed instructions on the artisoft forum
also i think the postings are under the main mach3 post not mach4
the main problem now is there not finnished with the driver for the g100
so for now softlimits are not working, I am waiting for them to resolve this so is every one else
