Hello all, Newbie lurker here. I've been reading and absorbing as much as possible for many months, then made the dive in November and purchased 4 G212's and a G100. I have started out to do a trial set-up on an old Lightmachines Spectralight I had come upon cheap before I go on to a larger machine and risk expensive damage. One of the problems I am still faced with on this little hobbyist machine is that I can't find any info on the motors, so I'm having to start out current limited down to keep from smoking windings. Anyway, where I am beating my skull to a bloody pulp is the same spot that cybertek is, and that is setting up the ports and pins for the Grex (G100). I am running the latest Mach 3 version 2.00.031 and the g100 plug-in. I do have firmware loaded and verified working, communication established and heartbeat verified, and everthing wired and have confirmed all is correct. What I can't seem to determine is the Port #1 address to use and then what the pin assignments for the G100 are. I started out with the default Port address of 0378 to no avail. I tried the address for the network card (don't know why - just thought I'd give it a shot) which is D000, also no good. I do have power to the steppers, as under power they lock in place, and without they are easy to turn. So far I'm running in circles, and I would really like to pass this hurdle and move on to inputs and outputs. Anybody?? Even small clues would be greatly appreciated! Finest regards, John B. |
